The Art of Iris E.

 

This Summer,  my niece raised as my little sister "dropped her body". Her name was Ashton Drake Kimberley-Johnston, she was a Leo, and she was 23 years old. I had been meaning to do a portrait of her since learning of her crossing the veil. She was a Neo-Pagan for lack of a better word, after her Aunt (me), a painter, a musician, an artist, primarily a poetess, and one of the Loves of my Life.  I began this portrait in charcoal which I have used as a medium once before, before deciding to highlight the piece with some colour using pastels, a medium which I have never used.
